Please help me :( my mums loosing sooo much hair! were both freaking out.?

my mums been using "nice'n easy" hair dye by Clairol for the past few months and has been loosing allot of hair after washing it, she stopped using the product 4 weeks ago and still every time she combs or washes her hair she looses a considerable amount. Is there anything she can do or eat to prevent this hair loss? Usually i would assume this would be natural for a 45 year old women but the amount that is falling out is unbelievable. she only uses hairdryers moderately and has never touched a hair straightener nor does she use moose and hair sprays so what could be the reason?

The fact that it coincides with the time she started using the hair dye may mean that it has caused this reaction but you won't know for sure until you GO SEE A DOCTOR. Sweetie, people on YA are not medically qualified to answer this question properly. Your mother needs to make an appointment with a doctor so he or she can give her advice on what to do next.

she may want to consult her doctor and have her thyroid checked. Hair loss can be a sign of medical issues. Thyroid imbalance is probably the most common but other health issues can trigger hair loss.

She should also consult a professional hair care specialist.

There could be a couple reasons why, like has she starting using any medications, some meds could cause hair loss. I would suggest she see a Doctor to rule out any illness. Also, Vitamin E is good for you hair and skin, follow the directions on the bottle. I am the same age and color my hair with that too and haven't had any problems.

Dying frequently can be drying and damaging to the hair. Precauions must be taken to retain the hair mositure. Ask ur mum to stop the dying process. Maybe the hair is too stressed by the harsh and frequent treatment. Go natural...Let it breathe.

Warm olive/avacado/coconut oil. Apply to hair %26amp; scalp. Leave on for min (45 mins) max (overnight).

Wash off with a good shampoo and conditioner. Try using mane and tail shampoo. Or Garnier long n strength. That is know to hicken and strenghten hair.

2x a mth have hair mask : Raw egg with yogurt. Whisk till frothy apply to hair. Wash off after 1 hr.

Never use hot water for hair it weakens the hair. Always use cold water. Take milk 2x a day. Take hair multi vitamins.

Lots of water and fresh fruit and vegetable.

All the best!!!!

Your mum must stop using them hair dyes first!

When i used home dyes my scalp always used to burn it was horrible!

Go to the doctor before it gets any worse he might give you a gentle shampoo like E45 or something stronger so the hair grows back. He gave me capusal/capusol something like that but that was for the eczema in my hair (burning, itchy scalp).

Luckily my hair wasnt falling out but dyes can make it fall out!

This could be stress? has she been worried about something recently? or her scalp is just really sensitive.

I would reccomend going to boots for womens hair loss spray 鎷?9.99 its really good!

ask the doctor too also!

When her scalps better, if she MUST dye her hair then boots do a great range natural chemicals that wont make her hair fall out!

All the best,

Excessive use of any chemicals on the hair can cause the hair to become damaged. It sounds to me like that is the cause of her hair loss and breakage. I would stay away from any chemicals and also the hairdryer. Your mom should try using a product called placenta to help restore her hair, and some good damage shampoo for dyed hair...such as pantene restoring shampoo. If the problem persists then she should contact her doctor, just to make sure it isn't something more serious. Best of luck to your mom!!!
